Celebrates a Banner Year: 2009 -
2010
The Mecklenburg Medical Alliance and Endowment has a long history of initiating and/or funding health related projects in Mecklenburg County. Under the leadership of Co-Presidents Debi Attorri and Lois Benjamin, MMAE enjoyed an exceptional year. Focusing on a theme of “Rediscover Good Health,” MMAE brought Chris Crowley, co-author of Younger Next Year to Charlotte to speak at MMAE’s annual Community Health Series.

The Lucky
Hearts Campaign, a joint health
project that teams MMAE and MEDIC in
donating lifesaving AEDs (automatic
external defibrillators) and
training in their uses, as well as
CPR, to non-profits and schools has
won national and state recognition.
Members participated in a wide variety of activities from “GET FIT NC,” an exercise incentive competition to programs on eating healthy.
