Membership

The Mecklenburg Medical Alliance and Endowent offers three levels of membership.

Regular Membership
Membership in MMAE is an opportunity - an opportunity that encourages physicians’ spouses to grow as individuals while supporting the mission of the Alliance. Members enjoy fellowship, learn leadership skills while participating in various Alliance projects, and serve the community by developing programs or volunteering on projects that build a healthier community.

Membership in the Mecklenburg Medical Alliance is open to the spouse, widow, widower or divorced spouse of an individual who is eligible to be a member of the Mecklenburg County Medical Society (MCMS). Regular members shall pay dues, shall be eligible to vote and to serve as a Director, to hold office and to receive Endowment publications.

MMAE Membership is also open to the following:

Physicians
Physicians-in-training
Physician Assistants
Physician-in-training spouse
Medical Student Spouse

As MMAE is affiliated with a number of other health advocate organization, regular members are encouraged to join the North Carolina Medical Society Alliance; the Southern Medical Association Alliance; and the American Medical Association Alliance (AMAA).

Honorary Membership
An honorary member is a member who is elected to honorary membership by a majority vote of the members. An honorary member must have rendered long and distinguished service to the Alliance/Endowment and be approved by the Board of Directors.

Friend of the Alliance
The Endowment welcomes community volunteers as members in the Alliance.
